About this camp

The Riverdale Country School's Project Knowmad offers an immersive experiential summer learning program for rising 5th through 9th graders. Led exclusively by Riverdale Country School faculty in small, dynamic group settings, this program features engaging mini-courses that utilize the school's 19.5-acre Hill Campus and the diverse landscape of New York City as an expansive learning laboratory. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary connections, fostering a deeper understanding of academic concepts and real-world issues. Through hands-on activities, participants engage in independent research, collaborate with professionals, address community problems, and undertake creative projects such as making art, cultivating food, and building robots. This unique approach cultivates curiosity, critical thinking, and practical skills, enabling students to develop their passions and contribute meaningfully within a supportive and collaborative community.
