The Civic Hall High School Summer Camp - AI Track is a free, four-week immersive program designed for NYC high school students (grades 9-12) to explore Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, prompt engineering, and emerging technologies. Students engage in hands-on projects and utilize real-world tools. The program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI, starting with foundational concepts and responsible usage. Participants learn prompt engineering to effectively communicate with AI and build a professional digital profile. Weeks two and three focus on tool mastery and automation, where students explore no-code tools and visual AI platforms to create simple automations and AI-generated visuals for a project portfolio. The camp culminates in a capstone AI project where students work in teams to build and present their own AI solution with a live demo. Throughout the program, students also benefit from guest speakers, mentors from the tech ecosystem, immersive VR experiences, and supplemental activities connecting their learning to real career pathways.
