This pre-college program introduces high school students to the foundational concepts of data science and machine learning. Participants gain hands-on experience with introductory coding using Python, learning to leverage mathematical techniques for data analysis. The curriculum covers an overview of the data science landscape, real-world applications, and popular machine learning algorithms. Students develop skills in creating impactful visualizations and ethically analyzing and presenting data. By the end of the course, students are prepared to become data-driven decision-makers and are equipped with benchmark knowledge for more advanced studies in data science and machine learning.
Classes meet twice daily, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, separated by a two-hour midday break.
Students with little-to-no previous experience with coding/programming who are interested in the foundations of data science and machine learning.
