About this camp

The NYU Steinhardt Coding for Game Design High School Summer Program is an intensive two-week program where students delve into the principles of game design and gain practical experience with C# and Unity scripting. Participants will learn to create their own 2D Unity games, emphasizing team collaboration and working closely with experienced game designers and developers from NYU Steinhardt's CREATE lab. The curriculum for Summer 2026 includes a new workshop on effectively and ethically using Generative AI for game development, complementing the core coding skills. Students will engage in a mix of lectures, collaborative small-group activities, and individual projects, culminating in a final team-based game project. The program aims to boost preparedness for college-level academics and connect students with peers globally.
