About this camp

The NYU Tandon CE4G (Computer Engineering for Good) program is a 3-week immersive summer program for high school students. It focuses on applying computer and electrical engineering skills to address global challenges, particularly in developing world technologies, sustainability, climate change, and public health. Students learn embedded systems development and build internet-connected devices using platforms like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The curriculum covers aspects from design conception through implementation, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants will create embedded systems applications and work on projects that aim to provide viable and sustainable solutions to real-world problems.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing students to design and build their own “smart” devices. It also introduces concepts from robotics, remote sensing, AI, computational analytics, cloud computing, engineering design, and wireless communications. Students gain valuable technical skills and a deeper understanding of how technology can drive meaningful change. The program is supervised by Professor Matthew Campisi from Tandon's Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
