About this camp

The NYU Tandon Machine Learning Summer Program introduces high school students to the computer science, data analysis, mathematical techniques, and logic that drive machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). Students gain hands-on programming experience and explore real-world applications of ML and AI, such as video and image recognition, interactive voice controls, autonomous vehicles, and diagnostic medical technologies. The curriculum covers core principles like model development through cross-validation, linear regressions, and neural networks. Participants learn how logic and mathematics are applied to teach computers to perform tasks and continuously improve. The program emphasizes engineering problem-solving principles and how these techniques can address societal challenges. Students engage in daily assignments and weekly projects, culminating in a solid foundation of AI and machine learning principles and problem-solving skills.

What a typical day looks like

Students attend classes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with scheduled time each day to work independently or collaboratively on daily assignments and weekly projects.
