The NYU Tandon School of Engineering's Applied Research Innovations in Science and Engineering (ARISE) program is a free 10-week pre-college program for high school students. It offers unparalleled opportunities to conduct real-world scientific research in over 80 NYU STEM labs under the guidance of NYU faculty and graduate researchers. Students gain valuable first-hand experience, making practical contributions to research objectives in various STEM fields, including Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Urban Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, and Data Science. The program also includes workshops focused on scientific writing, public speaking, and college admissions, culminating in a colloquium where students present their research findings to faculty, peers, and experts. Participants gain approximately 150 hours of lab experience and receive a stipend upon successful completion.
Students spend six weeks conducting research in an NYU STEM lab, reporting Monday-Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM, directed by graduate researchers and faculty.
